In 2014, Pat Cummins made his IPL debut for the Kolkata Knight Riders under captain Gautam Gambhir at the iconic Eden Gardens. During his sole appearance in the 2014 season against Chennai Super Kings, Cummins bowled four overs, conceding 29 runs, including a maiden, and took the wicket of Dwayne Smith. Following that match, Cummins spent much of the season on the bench, carrying drinks and bats for his teammates and cheering from the dugout.
